Independent Reading Guidelines

All assignments are listed on the bulletin board daily and listed on homework hotline weekly.

Everyday Work Explained:

DLA's, Read/Write, and Vocabulary - Everyday of Every week students are required to keep a journal and daily language activity in a folder to be checked periodically.

DEJ's - The English III class will be expected to keep dual entry journals for independent reading books.  DEJ's will be assigned on Monday and collected on Friday.  Each student will be expected to read one book a quarter.

Independent Reading Project - At the end of each quarter students will be expected to do a project for their independent reading book.  Examples of appropriate projects and rubrics are in Mrs. Helm's room.
